La Concha peak - high over the Mediterranean Sea |

La Concha is the striking 1215 m high mountain, that sits behind Marbella, at the end of the Sierra Blanca mountain range. La Concha in Spanish means "the shell". Some say this mountain takes it's name because it looks like an inverted shell, another version is that a sea shell was found on top of it, as the sea once covered these mountains.

The ambitious , partly alpine hike is a nice challenge! Stroll through Olive trees and Pine forests, steep gorges and high cliffs, once you reached the top overlooking the sea, you can register yourself into a "summit post office" or leave a message for other hikers. By clear weather you can see Gibraltar, Africa and the snow-covered summits of the Sierra Nevada. |

For all mountain-experienced hiker, who has a good sporty condition and are fancy to enjoy awesome views, which will escort you during the whole hike. Be rewarded by a house-made picnic for all your workout and enjoy your mountain break overlooking the sea. The trekking is approx. 11km long and lasts between 5-7 hours. |
